A mind map of my friend Hunter Davis. Somehow, I think this says more about him than any lengthy novel description, prose, or Image could do by itself. Words + pictures + associations = communication.
Just started this mind mapping/visual thinking thing. I went to art school, did a few paintings, but the problem I found with it was the silence of the idea. You take what you will from a painting and it usually contains specific details of 1 thing when I had much bigger ideas I wanted to communicate in my mind. Thus, I found this. The idea is to mimic the unlinear process of thought so don’t dwell on a word, or say “wait no that doesn’t fit” It all leads you somewhere to the bigger picture. Have a central figure/word/idea and expand around it with words as fast as you can. The visuals mimic the same unlinear process. It brings the words to life. It even reads like thought, versus this shitty text. I use it to take notes, to understand what I’m thinking, and define, or develop things. I probably should have made a mind map for this boring text. I learned most of what I know from it from Austin Kleon, because he has a more personal approach than whats out there on the inter web.
